Rye Malt can contribute spicy, earthy, and grainy flavors to beer, and is very popular in IPAs, Pale Ales, and Specialty Ales. Our compilation of Rye Beer recipes inlcude; Rye IPAs-including Red and Black varieties, Smoked Rye IPAs, Rye Pale Ales, a Rye Imperial Stout, and a Rye Oatmeal Brown Ale.

Rye IPA (6.8%, 90 IBUs) | Brewed with 10% Rye Malt. Nelson Sauvin, Columbus, and Simcoe hops are used for flavoring. Dry-hopped with Simcoe hops. Notes of rye, toasted malts, caramel, earthy, piney, & fruity hops. High hop bitterness in the finish. 


Alpine Nelson Rye IPA Clone (7%, 76 IBUs) | Brewed with 10% Rye Malt and single-hopped with Nelson Sauvin hops. Flavors of fresh crushed gooseberries, white wine grapes, light caramel, and rye. Dry-hopped with Nelson Sauvin. 


Red Rye IPA (6.6%, 70 IBUs) | Founders Red’s Rye PA Clone. Brewed with 18% Rye Malts. Flavored and dry-hopped with Amarillo hops. Notes of spicy rye, tangerine, and citrus. Moderately high hop bitterness. 


Smoked Rye IPA (6.2%, 93 IBUs) | Spicy, smoky, and intensely bitter IPA. Brewed with 19% Rye Malt and 19% Cherrywood Smoked Malt. Simcoe and Meridian hops are used for bittering and flavor. 


Black Rye IPA (7.7%, 65 IBUs) | Boulevard Grainstorm Black Rye IPA Clone. Brewed with 10% Rye Malt and Roasted Wheat Malt. Amarillo, Citra, and Simcoe hops are used for flavoring. Citrusy, piney, and roasty flavors. 


Smoked Black Rye IPA ((7.3%, 74 IBUs) | Brewed with 33% Cherrywood Smoked Malt and 13% Rye Malt. Columbus and Simcoe hops are used for bittering and flavor. Spicy, smoky, and earthy flavors with high hop bitterness. 


Terrapin Rye Pale Ale Clone (5.5%, 35 IBUs) | Medium-bodied and easy-drinking pale ale, with moderate bitterness. Citrusy hop and spicy rye malt notes. Dry-hopped with Amarillo hops. Fuggles and East Kent Goldings hops are used for flavoring. 


Bronx Rye Pale Ale Clone (6.3%, 58 IBUs) | Brewed with 19% Rye Malts and Maris Otter British malt. Chinook and Crystal hops are used for flavoring. Notes of spicy rye, grapefruit, toasted malt, and pine. Moderately high hop bitterness. 


Rye California Common Beer (6%, 45 IBUs) | Brewed with 13% Rye Malt. Columbus and Opal hops are used for flavoring. Smooth, with a creamy texture and notes of rye and earthy hops. Balanced finish with medium hop bitterness. 


Rye Ale (5.9%, 52 IBUs) | Brewed with more than 50% Rye Malts, including Crystal Rye and Chocolate Rye. Citra hops are used for flavoring, providing tropical fruit and citrusy notes. Medium hop bitterness.


Double Oatmeal Rye Brown Ale (8%, 44 IBUs) | Smooth and creamy brown ale brewed with 11% Rye Malts, Flaked Oats, Chocolate Malts and Maris Otter British Malt. Moderate hop bitterness.


Rye Imperial Stout (11%, 60 IBUs) | Brewed with 13% Rye, dark malts, Munich malts, and Black Malt. Full-bodied with dark roasty flavors and notes of spicy rye.
