Best Places to Buy Craft Beer in Austin

1) Sunrise Mini-Mart on West Anderson Lane. What looks like your standard gas station convenience store from the outside, is actually filled with wide selection of craft beers. Almost one-third of the store is filled with a craft beer selection of local, national, and international beer. The location is in North-Central Austin.

2) Whole Foods Flagship Store in downtown Austin. A large walk-in cooler is filled with chilled craft beer. The store has the best selection of international craft beer in the city, but also focuses on local and national American craft brewed beer. There is also a small bar onsite that serves about eight craft beers on tap.

3) The Whip-In off of I-35 just south of downtown Austin. The store offers a big selection of craft beers from local and national craft brewers. They also have a beer with over 50 craft beers on tap, including house brewed beer by their small brewery.

4) Central Market on North Lamar. A high-end grocery store which has a nice selection of American and International craft beer on site. Don’t bother looking for mass-market pale lagers here, but you will find high quality crisp pilsner beer from craft brewers. Great produce, fresh breads, and a massive butcher/seafood shop is onsite.

For a quick stop, most local HEB chain grocery stores offer a decent selection of craft beer, and are located all over Austin
