Brewing Malt Profile: British Maris Otter Malt

British Maris Otter Malt

Maris Otter is a pale 2-row base brewing malt produced in the UK. The malt has light nutty, bready, and toasted flavors which work very well in English-Style Ales, IPAs, ESBs, Brown Ales, Stouts, Scottish Ales, Barleywines, and Porters. The malt is fully modified and can be used on its own as 100% of a malt bill in a single infusion mash for home brewing. Flavors from Maris Otter will be a bit more robust and heartier than American 2-row pale base malts.
