Hefeweizen Summer Beer Cocktail Recipe

The addition of orange juice and elderflower liqueur adds a boost of fresh citrus to an already refreshing beer style. This cocktail works best with American style Hefeweizens which have restrained clove and banana flavors, and can be prepared in three different ways with the same ingredients.

Ingredients:

6 oz. Hefeweizen (unfiltered wheat beer)

2 oz. fresh squeezed orange juice

1 oz. St Germain Elderflower liqueur

Instructions:

Version 1: Mixed with Ice

Add orange juice and St Germain to an ice filled collins glass.

Slowly pour in the beer. Stir gently.

Garnish with an orange slice.

Version 2: Two-Tone Effect with Ice

Mix orange juice and St Germain in a chilled shaker.

Add the hefeweizen to an ice filled collins glass.

Gently spoon the mix on top of the beer.

Garnish with an orange slice.

Version 3: No Ice

Make sure all ingredients are chilled.

Add orange juice and St Germain to chilled cocktail glass. Stir together.

Gently pour hefeweizen beer to fill the glass.

Garnish with an orange slice.
