India Red Ale

A sub-style of an IPA, IRA’s range from bright red to dark ruby red in color, with bold hop flavors and high bitterness levels. They generally have more toasted and caramel malt flavors than IPAs. The color of these beers is eye-catching and the flavor profile is attracting more craft beer fans to the style. Most of the commercial examples are popping up on the West Coast, but there are others versions spread across the country.
