Anderson Valley Wild Turkey Bourbon Barrel Stout Review

Pours an opaque black color with a tan head.  Notes of vanilla, toffee, and espresso.  Medium-bodied with flavors of roasted malt and bourbon whiskey.

Aged in Wild Turkey bourbon barrels.

Not as big as may other bourbon barrel stouts, but still a nice complex beer.

Hops: Columbus, Northern Brewer

Malts: 2-row, Crystal 40, Crystal 80, Roasted Barley, Munich, Chocolate, Oats

Limited availability.

Bourbon and vanilla come through nicely in the aroma and flavor. Creamy and velvety smooth body with light roasty flavors.

On tap at Bangers in Austin.

Big nose of bourbon, oak, and vanilla. Same flavors carry through.

Medium bodies and not too strong.
