Boulevard Terra Incognita

Barrel-Aged American Brown Ale bottle conditioned with wild Brettanomyces yeast. Collaboration brew with Sierra Nevada.

Pours dark brown with a thick frothy tan head. Aromas of dark fruit, bourbon, oak, and funky Belgian yeast. Medium-bodied and effervescent with flavors of sweet caramel, bourbon, vanilla, and earthy hops. Some funky farmhouse flavors are intermingled. Finishes dry with moderate bitterness and a slight tartness.

Hops: Bravo, Styrian Goldings, East Kent Goldings

Malts: Pale 2-row, Amber Malt, Wheat Malt, Un-malted Wheat

Dry-hopped with East Kent Goldings hops.

Aged in oak whiskey barrels for three months. Wild Brettanomyces yeast added at bottling time.

Some aging should smooth out some of the Brett character.
