Cigar City Brewing Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout Review

Pours a dark black color with a rich brown head. Aromas of roasted coffee, vanilla, cinnamon, chiles, chocolate, and tobacco.

Full-bodied with intense flavors of chocolate and dark coffee. Softer notes of vanilla and cinnamon. Warming finish with a touch of heat from the chiles.

The stout is aged on cacao nibs, vanilla beans, Ancho chiles, Pasilla chiles, and cinnamon.

Limited release annually in March at a special event at the brewery.

Malty, spicy, hoppy, and sweet. This beer is a sensory factory. Everything blends together beautifully.

    A world class beer.

Fantastic stout. Incredible depth of flavor.

Cinnamon, chocolate and vanilla meld together wonderfully.

A friend in the Tampa area shared a bottle with me.

I never go for the big, dark, heavy beers. But this beer was special. The flavors were so intense and wonderful, coffee, dark chocolate, and vanilla. Mmmm…

World class imperial stout with layers of complex flavors.

Roasty, spicy, and chocolaty. Vanilla notes also come through nicely.
