Deep Ellum Numb Comfort Whiskey Barrel-Aged Barleywine Review

Pours a deep mahogany color with a frothy off-white head. Aromas of toasted malt, citrus, oak, vanilla, and caramel. Full-bodied with rich malty flavors, followed by a balancing of hop bitterness and flavor.

Hops: Chinook, Willamette, Summit

Malts: Pale Ale, Light Munich, Crystal Rye, White Wheat

Aged in oak whiskey barrels.

Fermented with English Ale yeast.

Limited availability on draft.  First released in April 2013.

    On tap.

    Poured a dark brown with crimson highlights. Big frothy off-white head.

    Aromas of sweet and toasted malt, oak, and vanilla. Full-bodied and malty with a hint of whiskey flavor and hops.
