Founders Brewing Bolt Cutter 2012 Bourbon Barrel-Aged Barleywine Review

Pours a deep copper color. Aromas of citrus, pine, oak, vanilla, and caramel. Full-bodied with rich toasted malt and toffee flavors.

Aged in three groups; standard aging, bourbon barrel aging, and maple syrup bourbon barrel aging – then blended together, and allowed to to age for four additional months in bottles and kegs.

Dry-hopped with Cascade hops.

Limited release in November 2012 in bottles and draft. Part of Founder’s Backstage Series of beer releases.

Great beer to cellar for several years.
