Jester King Funk Metal Sour Barrel-Aged Stout Review

Pours dark black. Great sourness, which melds well with the dark malts in the beer. Seems unusual at first thought, but a rather fantastic brew.

Hops: Czech Saaz

Malts: Organic Pale, Black, Chocolate, Caramalt, Brown, Carafa, Dark Crystal

Fermented with farmhouse yeast, wild Texas Hill Country Yeast, and lactobacillus to create sourness profile.

Limited availability in bottles – with very cool label artwork!

    Love the label art.

Pitch black with roasty flavors and a very smooth sourness. Fun style to drink.

    Poured from a bottle.

Flavors of dark malts blended with an oak, and a perfect sourness.

Think Tart of Darkness from The Bruery.

    Excellent beer!
