Jester King Viking Metal Gin Barrel-Aged Gotlandsdricka Review

Big smoky flavors, with some sourness in the finish. An interesting, complex beer to break out at your next BBQ.

Hops: East Kent Goldings

Malts: Birchwood Smoked Pilsner, Beechwood Smoked Malt, Oak Smoked Wheat, Flaked Rye

Brewed with juniper berries, and sweet gale.  Aged in Old Tom gin barrels for several months.

Fermented with farmhouse yeast, wild Texas Hill Country Yeast, and lactobacillus to create sourness profile.

Limited availability in bottles and draught.

On tap at the Jester King Brewery.

Very interesting flavor profile. Smoky, woody, and complex – with some sweet spice mixed in.

Thoroughly enjoyed this, as with most of Jester King’s beers. Jester King is a great addition to the Austin beer scene with their unique beer styles.
