Sierra Nevada Brewing Hoptimum Imperial IPA Review

Pours a light copper color with a foamy white head.  Aromas of grapefruit, pine needles, tropical fruit, and fresh herbs.  Dominating flavors of fresh hops, and aggressive bitterness levels.  Finishes dry.

Hops: German Magnum, Simcoe, Chinook, Citra, Secret Proprietary

Malts: 2-row, Golden Promise, Munich, Wheat

Hopped in the boil, dry-hopped, and torpedo-hopped.

Limited seasonal release May-August in bottles and on draft.

Enjoyed this beer. SN went a bit bolder on alcohol, hop flavors, and bitterness with this beer. Stands up well against other Imperial IPAs. They did a great job in hop selection for the beer.

Nice layered hop flavors of grapefruit, tropical fruit, and citrus. High bitterness works well with a solid base of malt.
