Surly Brewing SurlyFest Rye Lager Review

Go against the grain with this non-Oktoberfest style beer. SurlyFest is a dry-hopped crisp rye lager.

Pours a medium copper color. Aromas of rye malt with bright floral notes. Biscuit malt and crisp hop flavors.

Velvety smooth medium body.

Hops: Sterling

Malts: Vienna, Malted Rye, Flaked Rye, Crystal Rye

Fermented with German lager yeast.

Dry-hopped for increased hop characteristics.

Seasonally available in September in cans and on draft.

Rye lagers are awesome and this one is a refreshing change from all the malty Oktoberfest beers out in the Fall. Crisp lager flavored with spicy rye notes. Love it!
