Craft Brewery Profile: The Kernel Brewery, London, England
The Kernel Brewery
Craft beer fans looking for a cool place to visit on a Saturday afternoon in London should consider a trip to The Kernel, where they are open for beer sales from 9am to 3pm. The Kernel is a unique, small craft brewery, with a focus on producing hop-forward pale ales, using American and New Zealand hop varieties. Beers brewed with a blend of Simcoe, Centennial, Columbus, Citra, Mosaic, Amarillo, Galaxy, and Motueka, in the 5-7% ABV are very common releases from the brewery. They also produce some great traditional style porters & stouts, and low ABV sour ales.
The brewery produced its first beer in 2009, and was voted Brewery of the Year in January, 2011, by the British Guild of Beer Writers.
Check out this video from their website to see how their small brewery operates.
If you plan to visit on a Saturday, the entrance to the brewery is located at Arch 11 Dockley Road Industrial Estate, London SE16 3SF.
