All Grain HomeBrew Irish Style Stout Recipe

Profile: HomeBrew recipe for a Dry Irish Style Stout, similar to Black Raven Morrighan Stout. Medium-light bodied session-style dry stout that is smooth, flavorful, and easy drinking. Roasty with notes of coffee and dark chocolate. Smooth, dry finish with a nice touch of bitterness.

Ingredients:

Malts

8.5 lbs Gambrinus ESB Malt

8 oz. Roasted Barley

4 oz. Chocolate Malt

4 oz. Crystal 80

3 oz. Black Patent

Hops

1 oz. Glacier 5%a, 60 minutes

1/2 oz. Goldings 5%a, 60 minutes

1/2 oz. Glacier 5%a, 30 minutes

1/2 oz. Goldings 5%a, 20 minutes

Yeast: White Labs WLP004 Irish Ale Yeast or Wyeast 1084 Irish Ale Yeast

Instructions:

Mash all grains for 1 hour at 150 degrees.

Sparge at 170 degrees.

One hour boil with hop regimen above.

Ferment at 63-68 degrees.

Rack to keg or secondary and age for 3-4 weeks.
