All Grain HomeBrew Recipe for a Belgian Double IPA

Profile: HomeBrew recipe for a Belgian Double IPA similar to Cambridge Brewing’s Audacity of Hops. Packed with citrusy, spicy, and earthy hop flavors with high bitterness. Distinct flavors from fermentation with Belgian yeast strain.

Ingredients:

Malts

14 lbs Pilsner 2-row malt

4 lbs Vienna Malt

Hops

1 oz. Chinook 13%a, 60 minutes

1 oz. Simcoe 13%a, 30 minutes

1/2 oz. Amarillo 8%a, 30 minutes

1 oz Hallertauer 5%a, 15 minutes

1 oz. Spalt 4%a, at flameout

1/2 oz. Amarillo 8%a, at flameout

YeastWyeast 5522 Belgian Ardennes or White Labs WLP550 Belgian Ale

Dry-Hop: 1 oz. Amarillo

Instructions:

Mash all grains for 1 hour at 152 degrees.

Sparge at 170 degrees.

One hour boil with hop regimen above.

Ferment at 65-68 degrees.

Rack to keg or secondary and age for 6 weeks. Add dry-hops for 7 days before tapping or bottling.
