All Grain Smoked Porter Recipe
Profile: HomeBrew recipe for a Smoked Porter, similar to Captain Lawrence Smoked Porter. Smooth and smoky with notes of roasted coffee, dark chocolate, bacony smoke. Mild notes of earthy hops. Medium bitterness.
7.5 lbs Maris Otter
2.5 lbs German Beechwood Smoked Malt
1 lb Munich
1 lb Vienna
8 oz. Chocolate Malt
3 oz. Roasted Barley
2 oz. Goldings 5%a, 60 minutes
1 oz. Willamette 5%a, at 20 minutes
1 oz. Goldings 5%a, at 10 minutes
Mash all grains for 1 hour at 152 degrees.
Sparge at 170 degrees.
One hour boil.
Ferment at 65F.
