All Grain Double Brown Oatmeal Rye Beer Recipe

Profile: Rich brown in color with a creamy mouthfeel and smooth flavors of chocolate, rye, toasted malt, and earthy hops.



14 lbs Maris Otter Pale

1.5 lbs Rye Malt

12 oz. Flaked Oats

8 oz. Crystal Rye

8 oz. Chocolate Malt

4 oz. Biscuit Malt

2 oz. Special B

Hops (Pellets)

1 oz. Magnum 14%a, 60 minutes

1/2 oz. East Kent Goldings 5%a, 30 minutes

1/2 oz. East Kent Goldings 5%a, 15 minutes

YeastWhite Labs WLP007 Dry English Ale or Wyeast 1318 London Ale III


Mash all grains for 1 hour at 152 degrees.

Sparge at 170 degrees.

One hour boil with hop regimen above.

Ferment at 63-68 degrees.

Should be ready to drink in about 6 weeks.

    Looks good.
    Have done similar beers but without the Belgian special malts. Rye, chocolate malt, and oats are a nice mix.
