All Grain HomeBrew IPA Recipe

Profile: HomeBrew recipe for an IPA, similar to Drake’s Aroma Prieta. Medium-bodied with gooseberry, citrus, tropical fruit, and grapefruit hop aromas. Moderately high bitterness level. Dry-hopped for added hop character. Brewed with New Zealand hop varieties.



9 lbs 2-Row Pale Malt

2 lbs Maris Otter Malt

2 lbs Golden Promise Malt

8 oz. Rye Malt

8 oz. CaraMalt 10


1 oz. Nelson Sauvin 12%a, 60 minutes

1 oz. Motueka 7%a, 20 minutes

1 oz. Nelson Sauvin 12%a, 20 minutes

1 oz. Pacific Jade 13%a, 5 minutes

YeastWhite Labs WLP001 California or Wyeast 1056 American Ale

Dry-Hop: 1 oz. Motueka, 1 oz. Pacific Jade


Mash all grains for 1 hour at 152 degrees.

Sparge at 170 degrees.

One hour boil with hop regimen above.

Ferment at 63-68 degrees.

Rack to keg or secondary and age for 5 weeks. Dry-hop for the last 10 days.
