All Grain Oak-Aged British Style Pale Ale Recipe
Profile: HomeBrew recipe for a English Style Pale Ale similar to Firestone Walker DBA. Smooth and balanced with flavors of caramel malt, earthy hops, and light woody oak. Moderate hop bitterness in the finish.
9 lbs Maris Otter
12 oz. Munich
8 oz. Crystal 80
1 oz. Chocolate Malt
1/2 oz. Magnum 14%a, 60 minutes
1 oz Styrian Goldings 5%a, 10 minutes
Dry-Hops: 1 oz. East Kent Goldings
Other: American oak spirals or toasted oak chips.
Mash all grains for 1 hour at 150 degrees.
Sparge at 170 degrees.
One hour boil with hop regimen above.
Ferment at 50-55 degrees.
