All Grain Fruity Session IPA HomeBrew Recipe

Profile: Pale copper colored Session IPA recipe with big notes of tropical fruit from special hop varieties used. Citra, Mosaic, and Galaxy hops provide fruity mango, pineapple, and passion fruit flavors. Moderately high hop bitterness in the finish.



9 lbs Pale 2-row

10 oz. Crystal 60

8 oz. CaraPils


1 oz. Citra 11%a, at 60 minutes

1 oz. Galaxy 14%, 15 minutes

1/2 oz. Mosaic 13%a, 10 minutes

1/2 oz. Citra 11%a, 10 minutes

Yeast: White Labs WLP001 California Ale

Dry Hops: 1/2 oz. Mosaic, 1/2 oz. Citra


Mash all grains for 1 hour at 150 degrees.

Sparge at 170 degrees.

One hour boil with hop regimen above.

Ferment at 66F for 5-7 days. Rack to secondary and age for 3 weeks. Add dry hops for the last 7 days.

    I decided to make this but tweaked the hop schedule a little.

    60m – 1oz Citra
    10m – 0.5oz each Citra/Galaxy/Mosaic
    180F steep – 0.5oz each Citra/Galaxy/Mosaic

    Also dry-hopping with 2oz each Mosaic and Citra leaf.

    I’m hoping the 1oz of Citra won’t put too much of a bitter bite on the beer.
