Profile: HomeBrew recipe for a strong Imperial Stout, similar to Parabola from Firestone Walker, but without barrel-aging. Full-bodied, rich, with a complex malt profile, and hopped enough to add balance to the large malt bill.
20 lbs Maris Otter
1 lb. Roasted Barley
1 lb. Munich
1 lb. CaraMunich
8 oz. Carafa
8 oz. Chocolate Malt
8 oz. Crystal 120
8 oz. Crystal 70
12 oz. Flaked Oats
3 oz. Zeus 15%a, 60 minutes
1 oz. Hallertaur 5%a, 30 minutes
1/2 oz. Hallertauer 5%a, 20 minutes
1/2 oz. Hallertauer 5%a, 10 minutes
Mash all grains for 1 hour at 152 degrees.
Sparge at 170 degrees.
One hour boil with hop regimen above.
Ferment at 63-68 degrees.
