Profile: HomeBrew recipe for a Hoppy Belgian Farmhouse Saison brewed with New Zealand hops, similar to Westbrook Bearded Farmer 3-Thomas. Medium-bodied and effervescent with earthy, fruity, citrusy, ands picy flavors. Dry finish with high hop bitterness.
14 lbs Pilsner 2-row
2 lbs Munich Light
8 oz. CaraMunich
4 oz. Acidulated Malt
1 oz. Pacific Gem 14%a, at 60 minutes
1 oz. Wakatu 7%a, 40 minutes
1 oz. Motueka 7%a, 30 minutes
1/2 oz. Wakatu 7%a, 20 minutes
1 oz. Motueka 7%a, 10 minutes
Mash all grains for 1 hour at 150 degrees.
Sparge at 170 degrees.
One hour boil with hop regimen above.
Ferment warm at 70F.
