Summer Wheat Beer Recipes
There is still plenty of time to brew a light-bodied, refreshing wheat beer, and enjoy it during the last half of summer. We have clone recipes for a Wheat IPA, Belgian Wit, two American Wheat Beers, and a classic German Style Hefeweizen.
El Segundo White Dog IPA Clone (6.7%, 64 IBUs)
A Wheat IPA brewed with 50% Wheat Malt and Nelson Sauvin hops giving it a refreshing crisp flavors of wheat, white wine grapes, and gooseberries. Should be in a prime drinking state 5 weeks after your brew day.
Lost Abbey Witch’s Wit Clone (4.6%, 15 IBUs)
Belgian Style Wit brewed with 40% White Wheat Malt. Flavored with grapefruit zest, Curacao orange peel, and coriander. Lightly hopped with Czech Saaz. Refreshing with a slightly tart finish. Ready to drink in about 4 weeks.
Three Floyds Gumballhead Clone (5.6%, 35 IBUs)
American Wheat Ale brewed with Malted Red Wheat, Pale 2-row Malt, and Amarillo hops. Crisp, with refreshing flavors of tangerine and grapefruit. Ready to drink in about 4 weeks.
Tallgrass Halcyon Clone (5%, 20 IBUs)
American Wheat Beer. Light-bodied, crisp, and refreshing with flavors of tropical fruit and fresh wheat. Ready to drink in about 4 weeks.
Drake’s Hefeweizen Clone (4.5%, 15 IBUs)
Classic unfiltered German Style Hefeweizen wheat beer, with banana and clove notes. Ready to drink in about 3 weeks.
