Union Jack Spicy IPA Beer Cheese Recipe
Recipe for spicy beer cheese made with Firestone Walker Union Jack IPA, or your favorite IPA.
Total prep and cooking time of about 20 minutes.
1 lb of extra sharp cheddar cheese, freshly shredded
6 oz cream cheese
8 oz. Firestone Walker Union Jack IPA or your favorite IPA
1 Jalapeño pepper seeded and diced into very small cubes
1 teaspoon Smoked Hot Paprika
1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Warm the beer to room temperature.
Slowly melt the cheddar with the cream cheese over low heat in a double boiler set-up on your stovetop.
Once the cheese blend is smooth, slowly stir in the IPA.
Stir in the jalapeño cubes, smoked hot paprika, black pepper, and garlic powder. Keep on low heat for a couple more minutes.
Serve warm with your choice of toasted french bread, homemade potato chips, or pretzels… and a glass of IPA, of course!
Refrigerate leftover beer cheese – tastes very good spread cold on crackers the next day.
